Anyone from India care to share their culture?
Not sure why my question keeps getting removed so I will be as vague as possible.
A friend of my daughter has lost her father approximately 4 weeks ago. We haven’t told my daughter (7 years old) any of this and the friend hasn’t mentioned it either though they play together every day.
When the PTA asked what they could do, the family replied that it was a family matter and to please not ask again. We def. will respect the mom’s wishes but wish there was something we could do to help our young friend.
The family moved here from india a few years ago and we know they don’t have family in the country except the mom’s father.
It sure would ease our mind if someone familiar with the culture in India could tell us how a death is handled. We can not imagine ‘not talking’ about a death esp. for a child so young but they probably can’t imagine talking to strangers about it. It would help my wife and I to know the little kid is getting support in some other way.
Well.. everyone copes differently. This is not a cultural issue. I’d be equally puzzled if the same happened here.

Is this stepping over the line of just being friends?
okay i’m 15 and me n my friends went out clubbing and had some drinks ( please dont start lecturing me about teen drinking, its not what im asking about). i have a boyfriend who i really really love, but after a few drinks i was getting really dizzy and holding my guy friends hand and kissing him on the cheek, hugging him etc… it didnt go further than that but my other friends think its a bit over the line.

If your parents know about your friendship with this kid and they’re okay with it, that’s what matters. They’re the ones whose judgment call that should be, because they’re always looking out for you. There are situations where that might not be appropriate - but I don’t think this is one of them. I was in almost exactly the same situation with my best guy friend at your age, and we are, all these years later, still like brother and sister. Out of respect for your bf’s feelings, maybe sleep in your pal’s guest room next time, and finito with the drinking - but don’t worry about this. You haven’t crossed any lines.

There are 2 sex chromsomes– X and Y. Sex-linked generally refers to traits that are carried on the X chromosome. In these cases, the Y chromosome doesn’t carry any genetic information for these traits (the Y chromosome doesn’t determine the phenotype).
If colorblindness is X-linked recessive, let’s call the color blind allele X-c and the normal vision allele X-n. X-n is dominant.
Because it color blindness is recessive and because a woman has two X chromosomes, a woman who has the color blind phenotype must have the genotype X-c X-c. (In other words, if she carried one or two X-n alleles, she would have normal vision because X-n is dominant).
The father has normal vision, so his genotype is X-n Y. (Because he only has 1 X chromosome, if he carried the X-c allele, he WOULD be colorblind because the Y chromosome doesn’t contribute to sex-linked disorders.)
If these parents have sons, ALL of the sons will be color blind. The reason is that the mother contributes one X chromosome and the father contributes one Y. The mother can only contribute X-c alleles (she has two of them), and the Y chromosome doesn’t affect sex-linked traits. Thus all sons are X-c Y in genotype and color blind in phenotype.

My computer will not go any further than the boot screen?
I am relatively familiar with computers, and I got a computer from a relative who passed away, she was old and she had a lot of programs that werent going to be useful for my two younger brothers, who would be using the system. So i uninstalled a lot of them and I cleaned out the start up using msconfig, y’know like unchecking all of the selective start up stuff and all unnecessary programs, but when i went to do the unnecessay program part, it didnt look like there was anything checked in the first place so i disregarded this and uninstalled things like ad aware, kodak easy share, spybot (i think) and a few other prrograms that i didnt find necessary at all. oh and i also ran automatic updates. so when i went to reboot the computer, it started up normally everything was going fine, then it started up the windows boot screen, ran for about the usual amount of time, exited the boot screen, stayed idle for a moment, just a colorless screen, and it restarted again. I have tried starting wwith the last known good configuration, ive tried safe mode. I need to get this computer working oon or my mom will be chewing my ass off. if you have any suggestions or questions that could help lead to an answer please do post them. thanks in advance

Try hitting the F8 key repeatedly on the keyboard immediately after you reboot. This will bring you to Windows Diagnostics. Then choose Safe Mode, see what happens. If this does not work, reboot again, F8 again, then choose Restore Last Good Configuration. Best of luck.

My friend has an obsession with serials killers!?
One of my friends who is sixteen, seems to have some sort of obsession with serial killers. He thinks there ”cool” and he appears to overlook the fact that what they do is horrible and evil, killing mutiple amounts of innocent people for there own satisfaction.
He appears to mainly, idolize american serial killer Ted Bundy. He thinks its amazing that Ted Bundy decieved so many people, by his fake personality (charming, intelligent) when really he was a cold blooded killer. He even wants to become someone like Ted Bundy!
What should I do? I hate seeing my friend like this :@
